Hi and Welcome to my Web Site

My Name is Drummond Window, I was for many years one of "The Queen's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard"

Pershore (Group Captain A.R.Combe) and Lt.Col Taylor the commanding officer, 4th Battalion Worcestershire Home Guard for prompt action and great endeavours to extricate the crew from their crashed Aircraft.  (A book has been published on this incident - R.A.F Pershore)

Later that same year I volunteered for service in the Royal Navy, and saw active service in most theatres of War  including the "D.Day" landings at the "Omaha" beach in Normandy, the Java rebellion and the Indian Navy Mutiny in Bombay in 1946.  I was discharged from the Royal Navy in Germany in June 1947 (Royal Naval Party 1735 Wilhelmshaven West Germany), and in February 1948 I joined the Royal Air Force Police, between 1949 and 1951 I saw active service in Malaya.

These above commendations were awarded for devotion to duty, initiative and valuable assistance to all concerned whilst employed on special investigation duties in their respective areas.  Between 1962 and 1965 I was again on active service in the Far East, employed on criminal and counter intelligence duties, during the Indonesian Campaign, whilst there I was awarded my long service and good conduct Medal by the Command Provost Marshal (GP CAPT. J. R. Coulson) and the Air Officer Commanding, Far East Air Forces Commendation in the New Years Honours List 1964.

I was released from the R.A.F Police in October 1966 after 24 years exemplary and loyal service.  In 1967 I inlisted in the West Riding Special Constabulary and by the year 1977 I had been promoted to to the rank of Divisional Commandant of "A" Division,  South Yorkshire Police.   During this period of my service I received the following Commendations:
